Hello.
Short pragmatic newsletter today. I’m poking my head up briefly from the work to announce a couple of weird Mount Eerie concerts. They will be the last for a big chunk of time. After this I’m pausing saying yes to shows and trips for a while. I’m looking forward to returning to the blurry anonymous place where ideas come from. To get there, sometimes, I have to build a huge brick wall in the shape of the word “NO” and make myself go behind it. That’s the plan.
But first, check this out:
A very special Mount Eerie show IN A CAVERN! About 90 minutes outside Austin, Texas, Mount Eerie will set up and play a show deep within the earth, literally. Longhorn Cavern is the place. It’s a state park. This will happen the evening of Fri. June 6th. Capacity is extremely limited (49) and there won’t be any extra tickets at the door (mouth of the cave), so jump on this. TICKETS HERE, available at noon CST today (Thurs. May 22).
Fri. June 6th, 2025 - rural Texas - Longhorn Cavern - 7:45 doors

Randomly, out of frickin nowhere, for no discernible reason, I’m playing a matinée show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada of all places, on some frickin random day in late June. Doors at 1 frickin pm, show over by 3. Bring lunch! It’ll be a solo show, I’ll be playing new and old songs in the pleasant Toronto afternoon. Last show before vanishing.
Sat. June 28th, 2025 - Toronto, ON - Great Hall, matinée (1pm) - tickets here
oh and
please get your ticket for these other Texas shows in June, all in theaters, droney and tangled, a few notes here and there, fuzz’d and hot:
Tues. June 3rd, 2025 - Dallas, TX - Texas Theatre (with Dagmar Zuniga)
Weds. June 4th, 2025 - Houston, TX - The Heights Theater (with Dagmar Zuniga)
Thurs. June 5th, 2025 - Austin, TX - Paramount Theatre (with Dagmar Zuniga)
what else?
I dug some holes out in the woods and poured concrete and rebar in them and made the beginnings of a sauna! See what I mean about why I might be turning my attention to home and ground-ward now? (I’ll probably have to eat my words and come back in like 2 weeks with tons more hustling and ambitious squirming and a bunch of new plans to advertise, but I hope not.)
I actually do have this experimental release that’s taking forever but I’m excited to drop soon. Test pressings just approved today! I’ll be back with you about that.
We got a cool minivan! A 35 year old Previa. Actually technically it’s an Estima and the steering wheel is on the Japanese side, but it’s the famous beautiful driving egg bean shape of a Previa. It’ll be parked at the lake a lot this summer with chips and sand mashed into the shag carpeting.
I’ll leave it there for now.
thanks, bye!
Phil

so no UK gigs? Was holding out on buying some records and books in the hope of avoiding the postage costs. Will take the hit if not.
