May we learn sensible balance & curiosity within our present moments rather than obsessively teetering between extremes; may we learn how to listen to the natural world again, in its infallible wisdom. We have plenty to unlearn. Thank you Phil <3
I agree with all of this. I still feel we need vote for the least evil reanimated dead guy to at least try and stop the nomination of more unhinged supreme and circuit court judges who are threatening the physical safety of queer kids, women and people of color.
But yeah. It's devastating. And I don't know what the answer is beyond doing our best to set the tone and create safety in our own communities.
Possibly my favorite post yet...thanks for grieving and screaming with the rest of us. What a dystopian nightmare. And yet, it's still a miracle we get to watch this horrific spectacle at all. I've often had a similar fantasy and wondered aloud if the rest of the world would be willing to forgive us of our endless sins if we sincerely apologized, promised to change course and backed that sincerity up with mountains of cash to make things right. I can't imagine how amazing this world could be if we spent the pentagon's annual budget on human development. We're rich enough that we could lead the world through generosity, instead of coups, exploitation, genocide, theft, resource extraction, right-wing death squads and greed. If only we had humans in charge who believed in the possibility of a peaceful planet.
