i get the seasonally-displaced SAD for summer. autumn and winter are the best, spring i can handle, but summer is the season of miasma, lethargy and social expectations to day-drink and sit in the blistering heat until i've crusted up like dehydrated mango. so, although i like spring, i can commiserate.
Love reading these journaly portions of the email updates. Thank you for sharing them ! Spring is definitely a “screaming” & “breaking down the door” type of season. The winds alone are violent ! I very much relate. I love to feel the sun & to sit outside again on the calmer days, but it is definitely an adjustment.
When people gloat about the weather, I always have to hold back and not mention that suicide rates are highest in April and May.
I get the same thing. At first it's like, "oh cool. An extra hour. I have time to take my dog to the beach after work and catch the sunset." Then my sleep schedule fails to adjust, winter behavior is now totally unacceptable and everyone in my life starts to grow increasingly manic. But the sunsets are nice. And in measured doses it is fun to see all the spring-loving weirdos come out in full force, catching up with friends and having loud, public conversations about their new love interests.
